A: its probably lawerance marshall

also i forgot to say: the 610 loop is CLOSED this weekend so i recommend not going to the sale..traffic is horrible

Q: where can i sale parts of my car in houston, texas.?
i just got into an accident and i need some money to pay for the repairs to the other car…long story. so i decided that i would look into selling parts of my car, and if it were profitable, then i’d do that and just buy a new car later instead of fixing it. so is there anyone that can help me by telling me the best place i can go do this? thanks in advance!

A: You culd start taking it apart properlayan selling pieces either on ebay or craigslist.org. Why dont you just sell it as one and take a lower payment but less hassle. Then go by a used honda or toyota. Good Luck

Q: I NEED WAYS TO RAISE MONEY FOR A GIRL SCOUT TROOP TO GO TO HOUSTON,TEXAS IN 2011 FOR A SCOUT CONVENTION?
I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY WAYS TO RAISE MONEY FOR 2 GIRL SCOUTS AND 3 ADULTS TO GO TO THE 2011 GIRL SCOUT CONVENTION IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. THE ONLY THINGS I CAN THINK OF IS BAKE SALES, CAR WASHES,YARD SALES,SELLING CANDY AND MICROWAVE POPCORN (NOT POPPED. IS THERE OTHER WAYS TO RAISE MONEY BESIDES THESE THINGS I JUST MENTIONED?

A: Turn off the Caps Lock key. Relax. Breathe deep.
It looks as if you’re off to a good start. The only thing I could think of to add would be baby-sitting.

Q: Anyone selling their home in Houston Texas area?
Hello. My husband and I are looking to buy our first home. We have 2 kids and can’t stand paying rent any longer, but house prices are so high here that we are having a very hard time finding a home in our range. We love the Tomball area and want to stay within a 10 mile radius, but if you have a home for sale then let me know! We need around 1500 square foot, 3 bedroom minimum, 1.5 baths min. and a 2 car garage all for under $100,000. I thought I’d give it a try, all the great deals go before I can jump on them. Oh, and we are pre approved, all we need is a house to buy! We could save each other time and money!
I forgot to mention I have a realtor, I was hoping to find someone trying to get out of their home or a home that may not be listed. Thanks… marvinmanuel I cant figure out how to email you.

A: I found 33 homes that meet your criteria on www.realtor.com. Also check out www.zillow.com for recent comparable sales (not asking) prices.

Visiting these web sites before going on too many trips with your realtor should speed up the process and I think you’ll be happier with the results.

Good luck! There are a fair number of homes in your price range there.

Q: Bought a used truck from friend. CA plates but bought here in Texas. No title. What paperwork needed?
Friend from NY who lived in CA for a bit, then moved to Houston sold me her truck. It has CA plates but I don’t think it’s registered here. Additionally, she has no title. What paperwork do I need? State of Texas used car sale paperwork? CA paperwork? And what about title? What do I need to get the thing all legal, in my name … here in the state of Texas … with title?
I’m very comfortable the car is legit and wasn’t stolen.

A: Get your money back. If your “friend” doesn’t have the title, she does not own the truck, and can’t legally sell it to you.

Q: Looking for a Toyota Celica!!?
Is anyone selling or knows someone that is selling a Toyota Celica in Houston, Texas? please let me know..its hard to find those cars for sale

A: Try Craig’s List but, these are cars being sold my individuals and you should have cash I think to pay or at least already have financing arrangements made.

Q: Do you think Texans are sophisticated enough to drive million dollar sports cars, Should they stick to trucks?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091113/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_lagoon_bugatti

LA MARQUE, Texas – A man blamed a low-flying pelican and a dropped cell phone for his veering his million-dollar sports car off a road and into a salt marsh near Galveston. The accident happened about 3 p.m. Wednesday on the frontage road of Interstate 45 northbound in La Marque, about 35 miles southeast of Houston.

The Lufkin, Texas, man told of driving his luxury, French-built Bugatti Veyron when the bird distracted him, said La Marque police Lt. Greg Gilchrist. The motorist dropped his cell phone, reached to pick it up and veered off the road and into the salt marsh. The car was half-submerged in the brine about 20 feet from the road when police arrived.

Gilchrist said he doesn’t know if the car was salvageable, but in his words, “Salt water isn’t good for anything.” He says the man, whose identity hasn’t been released, was not injured.

A 2006 Bugatti Veyron was recently offered for sale in Jonesboro, Ark., for $1.25 million

A: Since they are White people, definitely. After all their race invented the automobile.

Q: I’m 13 & need money fast but not online money?
I’m 13 Austin Texas(just in case it will help)I need money fast because I asked my parents for money but right now we got in a fight & they wont give me money so I desided to earn money myself.I need money to go to houston with my friends this summer.I got the accept from my parents but I need the money I know some ideas like:babysitting, washing cars, garage sales, etc.Any more ideas I did the garage sale & earn $67.So more Ideas, & thank you all for your support

A: good question. I have the same one. lol. but i would have to say is watch biz kid$, you might get some ideas. like there were some girls in ur situation and they made and sold soap. they have many ideas on how to make a business it really helped me. here is a list of things i can think of:
make a site and sell ur stuff like me www.freewebs.com/mylittlestore/
make jewelry
make keychains
lemonade stand
and thats all i can think of right now

Q: A question about Wrestlemania 25, tickets, seating and the stadium.?
I’m going to be at Wrestlemania 25 in Houston Texas and am looking forward to it very much as I’m coming over from the UK so its a holiday and a dream come true. There’s a couple of questions I’d like answered please. Serious answers only please. First of all the tickets I purchased are A4 size and look different from tickets for sale on ebay, I’ve been assured there genuine. Anyone else seen or heard of these tickets and also, could I ring up the stadium and check the barcode to see if its genuine? Secondly the seating arrangements, we’re going to be located in vip riser 124. We’re told these are elevated so will have a clear view over people situated in ringside seats, is this true and is there any place online apart from the reliant stadium website, where we can view what these type of seats look like? I think they are erected by the WWE themselves. Finally the parking available at Reliant Park for the event, is it free for an unlimited time or will we have to pay for the duration we’re parked there while we’re at the event? We want to take our hire car so there’s no problems after the event getting back to the hotel. Your help would be appreciated people. These are important to me so I hope you can help by clarifying the answers for me. Thanks in advance.

A: Well I would check the tickets that I bought with my friends but he kept them, just like you I’m looking forward to wrestlemania, well for the sitting chart you can go to www.ticketmaster.com and search for wrestlemania 25, for the parking lot I think is unlimited free. Hope to see you at WM25

Q: Diesel Fuel Sales at US Gas Stations?
I have recently been reading gas station pumps. As gas goes higher in costs, I believe the pumps are getting slower. I noticed on a recent Valero Gas Station Pump in Houston, Texas that is says “Diesel Fuel” is not intended for highway vehicles as it pertains more than 500 ppm of sulphur. Okay this got me wondering, most diesel cars and trucks are using the highways, expecially in the inner and outer loops around major cities (there are i=Interstate of Highways).

So I again started thinking, hmmm, maybe this is meant only for farm equipment and other types of diesel engines. Just then a black mercedes pulled up, and the man starting pumping the same diesel into his car.

Okay, what’s up with this one? I know my Explorer says not to use anything higher than a 87 Octane, I and am now seeing gas stations selling 86 octane gas. Is it me, or is there something wrong with gas stations selling Diesel fuel and lower grades of Octaane hoping us consumers don’t pay attention to it?

A: It certain states they do sell gas with lower Octane ratings. Buyer beware, I personally would never use anything lower than what my vehicle’s driver’s manual says. Especially if your vehicle is a sports car, since the tunning is specified for a certain type of octane.

As far as diesel is concerned. There is a lower emmision diesel fuel which just came out late last year/early this year. However, I do not believe the oil companies would both have the new diesel formula and old diesel formula available, it’s not cost effective.

But also here’s another interesting fact about farm/train diesel and one used by regular vehicles-THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. The big difference is that diesel fuel that cars, truck use is that we pay federal, state and local transportation taxes on them, and diesel used for farms, trains, etc. do not have to pay that type of tax.

But it’s the same diesel, you will notice a pink tinge(a dye that they put into the diesel) to non-taxed diesel, this basically alerts authorities that this gas is not taxed and cannot be used by cars, trucks on public roads.

As far as the pumps being slower, I don’t know, some stations I go to have slow pumps, while others seem quicker. Maybe they want you to go inside and buy something.

Q: I’m 13 & I need money fast?
I’m 13 Austin Texas(just in case it will help)I need money fast because I asked my parents for money but right now we got in a fight & they wont give me money so I desided to earn money myself.I need money to go to houston with my friends this summer.I got the accept from my parents but I need the money I know some ideas like:babysitting, washing cars, garage sales, etc.Any more ideas I did the garage sale & earn $67.So more Ideas, & thank you all for your support

A: what about walking dogs for people? My girls do that and make good money. they put up posters in our local grocery store and that is how they find customers. They love dogs and walking so it works out very good. They charge $1.50 for a walk around the block and $2.50 to take the dog to the park and play fetch for 10 minutes and then walk them back.

Also running errands or doing housework for an older person who might not be able to do it for themselves.

selling lemonade and cookies at a corner stand?

good luck!

Q: wher can I find collided cars for sale within houston tx?

A: Look in the yellow pages under automobiles for Wrecking Yards…

Q: Any 80s police car on sale in Houston, TX?
I was wondering where could I find a real, not model, 80s type police car in Houston, TX? I am looking for any 80s type police car does not matter the model I just want to know where I could find them on sale. Also, do they sale it with decals, lights, search lights and radio. Also, is it against the law to drive those police car on the street of Houston, TX?

A: You can not buy a full out police car with badges, decals, and lights. That would be called impersonating an officer which is against the law as you might guess. Try craiglook.com for all kinds of police cars just not fully loaded ones.

Q: Is there any good hobby shop in houston tx?
I’m looking for a good hobby shop in houston tx. That sale rc toys. Like rocket, cars, helicopter etc stuff like that..

Towards tomball past willowbrook.

Q: I am looking for a misubishi lancer evolution8 or a subaru impreza wrx for sale?
i am looking for any of those to cars between the years of 2004-2005 for sale In Houston, Tx

A: Use Autotrader.com
There is also vehix.com and cars.com

Q: Somebody with carfax, can you check this car out?
Hi, I saw an ad on the minneapolis craigslist for this car for $5400.00. Here is the vin:

1fafp49y53f388159

I googled it and its a car on sale in Houston,TX. Is this a scam?

A: I did a carfax and the car is for sale at a car dealership in texas for 18,900. And i too found the car on craigslist but i found it listed in Glen Falls, New York. So i too think this is a scam because everytime i respond to her i get the same e-mail response and no phone number. I have asked for her phone number to contact her but i am still awaiting a response. The name of the dealership is AUTO ENVOY located in Texas. The phone number to the dealership where the car is “located” is (713)953-0000.

Q: Houston TX i need help finding a meeting point around BW8 and 288?
I am meeting a guy to look at my car i have for sale and we are meeting halfway. That would be beltway 8 and 288. Where is there a good populated public area that we can meet.

A: There’s a brand new Home Depot at that corner great landmark to set-up a meeting.

Q: CarTheft in Houston,TX?
sellyourcar4free.com or Brigittes Consignment which is a Consignment Dealer that sells cars for people and has ben in Houston for 8 years sold my car. Here is the problem my car was up for sale for about 4 months and one day I noticed that all cars are missing from there lot and I called and 2 days later they called back saying someone broke into the cars there so they moved everybodys car. (Over 100 cars) . I trusted them becuase they have sold my car before. 2 weeks later I call and see if they have a buyer at there other lot where they said they put all the cars and the owner said yes and we actaully receive a check and waiting for it to clear for 5 days, so I went up there signed the title and gave them both spare and regular key. After the 5 days the lady hasnt called so I called and no answer and another 7 days later after constant calling and no return on when I will receive my check I threatend to call the police for theft and hearing from somone in my town that the business went under and some other guy was in the same position and cant get his money. So I called the DA;s office and they said they have had over 50 complaints and trying to resolve this issue by getting everybodys money. Finally I get a call from the ex-husband (Daughter and Mother are the owners) that the buisness went under and they sold my car and he is trying to sell some property to give to his daughter to give everybodys money back and will take up too 17 days and I asked if they did sell my car he said yes and I asked where my money was and he said he hasnt figured that out yet… Here is the last issue there is no way they sold over 100 cars in 2 weeks… What are my legal rights and what can I do to get my money? THANK YOU VERY MUCH

A: Call an attorney ASAP! Take all documentations to the attorney and make sure you log all the calls you make to them!

Good Luck

Q: Do I have to pay sales tax on a vehicle in Houston TX that I plan to resale?
I have recently purchased a 2005 Chevy 2500HD for $11,300 in the state of Maryland that I am waiting to have shipped down to Houston TX. I purchased the truck under the assumption that I was losing my company car. Recently I have found out that I get to keep my company car and have no use for the Chevy truck. NADA trade in on the truck is $19,300.00. I safely feel I can at least break even or mostly make a profit on the truck. I plan on receiving the truck in Houston and then immediately resale the vehicle. I will take it to Carmax if I have to. Is there a way to get around paying the 6.25% sales tax on purchased vehicles if I strictly resale the truck? i.e. – I do not title it in my name, or I obtain a resale certificate, or etc…???
THANKS!

A: I am not sure about in TX, but in my state you have to have a tax id in order to purchases things with the purpose of resale and not pay taxes on them. You would however have to pay sales take when you sold it if this is the case.

Hope this helps! Good luck!!

Q: why are cars in adelaide, south australia so cheap?? is this crazy talk??(more details inside)?
i currently live in houston,tx. im relocating to the beautiful city of adelaide, australia this summer along with my family. So i was looking at prices of some cars and was surprised of how cheap they were. i mean, i was looking at this website called gumtree.com for adelaide and i saw cars like a Volvo S60 2006 that only costs 7000 aud. in america this costs atleast 1500 usd. i also a NISSAN PATROL ST GUIII 2003 at 8,900 aud in adelaide which is really fukin cheap. in america this car costs no less than 25,000 usd. are these prices legit and if so why are they so cheap. here are some links for some cars in adelaide:

A: They dont look very legit to me. But Im not sure I dont live in the outback mate lol

Q: 4 bedroom 2 bath house for sale in Willis, Tx.?
We are selling our house which is located in Willis, Tx ON BEAUTIFUL LAKE CONROE. TOP 100 CITIES TO LIVE IN THE USA according to the Houston Chronical!!!! It is a 4 bedroom 2 bath house with a 4 car garage with guest apartment on top. Access to easy boat slip, 55mi out of Houston. Sam Houston State University only 25 minute drive. So many positives cant list all.

A: This must be a Advertisement as I can not find the Question.Hope you find a buyer.

Q: Part time evening job in Houston, TX.?
My husband is a Sales Executive and works Mon-Fri until about 6pm. We had a new baby this year, added to our other 4 children, and we need to save up some extra money for Christmas.

Does anyone know where he could find part time evening weeknight employment? I was thinking like a security officer for a hospital or business?? He doesn’t really want to pay for gas & car expense to deliver pizza’s.

Thanks!

A: I know of something that might be of interest to you and your husband, it is not part time employment but is a part time home based opportunity. My thoughts are that the two of you could do it together. Now it could get you some extra income for this Christmas but it can also produce a substantial long term residual income.
Unfortunately the rules here prevent me from giving you a web address for this but if you contact me through my 360 profile I will send you on the relevant information.

Q: Anyone heard of a used car scam with the seller located in Scotland?
SellMyCar.com has a listing for a 2005 Cadillac CTS, a $19-$24K luxury vehicle available for only $8100! We emailed the buyer & were told that he is “working in Aberdeen, Scotland,” but he can arrange the purchase for the vehicle since it’s located in Houston, TX. Sounds too good to be true…he wants to have the transaction handled through WorldPay only. We copied & pasted the VIN# of the car listed and found that it was also posted in the Chicago Topix classifieds for $10K! This guys making money by taking deposits via WorldPay and NEVER COMPETING THE SALE – BUYERS BEWARE!!!

A: This sounds like the well-known eBay and craigslist scam. It’s always someone in London or Europe who has an incredible car for sale at a discount price. Some people actually fall for this. Some people are not that bright.

Q: need help with car loan?
im 18 no credit never even touched it but i want to in the next month or two buy a used porsche for maybe 14 – 18k im in houston tx btw so on a lets jusy say 18 thosand dallor car being 18 just opening up credit with fist time buyer on my side what should i expect for apr or finace rate or whatever they call it o and whats this tax title and lkicence stuff about is it like sale tac or whatever a bunch of diffrent ones and the title how much will that cost and licence im clueless anyway i just want a avarage rate of what you think it would cost me would i get a better finance rate with a down payment of maybe like 1 thosand and how much do u think that would help plz help??????

A: Putting $1,000 down on an $14-$18K used car isn’t very much, and with no credit, your rate will probably be around 10% for a used car like that. As for tax, title document fees, they tend to run about $200-$350, depending on the dealer and what’s involved.

Edmunds.com has a lot of great information, including what to watch for in dealing with dealers and auto finance calculators. I’ll put a couple of links below.

Here’s the hard part, though. No matter what your age, owning a Porsche can get very expensive. You’ll have to pay a lot for insurance, and any repair work to be done–and high-strung sports cars tend to need a fair amount of it–is going to be fairly expensive.

Back to Edmunds. I grabbed a couple of links for a 2004 Boxster. Here’s the pricing (you can put in your zip code to get prices in your area):

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2004/porsche/boxster/100368954/prices.html

And the true cost to own one. Notice the insurance and finance rates (again, you can add your info to adjust it):

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2004/porsche/boxster/100368954/cto.html?setzip=44086&vdp=off

I was going to put in 2002, which is probably more in the price range you listed, but the cost to own detail only goes back to 2004.

Q: My car was gifted to me & the title signed over in my name, do I have to register before I sell it?
My car was bought by my brother in 2004 from carmax with a loan. This happened in Houston, TX. The loan is now paid off and on the title it says carmax was the previous owner and my brother is the current owner. My brother gifted me the car and on the title (which is from Texas), he filled in my name on the back and handwrote a receipt saying I purchased it for $500. The date of sale to me on the title is June 1 2009.
However, I have since moved to NY but have not yet registered the car. I think their are some penalties involved. My question is, do I have to register the car in my name before I can sell it or trade it in, or can I trade it in without registering it? The reason I ask is that my name is already filled in at the back of the title, and the title is from a different state. Please advise. Thanks

A: We get this question a lot. You MUST register the car in your name before you can sell or trade it in. Until you register it in your name it really does not belong to you so you can not legally sell it. It’s not your property, therefore you can not give a buyer a CLEAR title.

Although your brother signed the car over to you he is still the registered owner of record on the Texas DMV records because you haven’t completed the transfer by registering it in your name. The simple reason is that each time a car is sold the state wants some money, and you’ll have to pay sales tax on the $500.

Q: whats that avarage finance rate with no credit?
im 18 no credit never even touched it but i want to in the next month or two buy a used porsche for maybe 14 – 18k im in houston tx btw so on a lets jusy say 18 thosand dallor car being 18 just opening up credit with fist time buyer on my side what should i expect for apr or finace rate or whatever they call it o and whats this tax title and lkicence stuff about is it like sale tac or whatever a bunch of diffrent ones and the title how much will that cost and licence im clueless anyway i just want a avarage rate of what you think it would cost me would i get a better finance rate with a down payment of maybe like 1 thosand and how much do u think that would help plz help??????

A: With 18 and no credit, you wont be buying even a $5000 car without more than $1000 down unless you have a cosigner with good credit.

People with sub prime credit pay from 21-29% interest and overpay for the car by 10-200%.

Your chances of buying a $14.000 car with $1000 down are ZERO without a cosigner with good credit.

Im not sure you could buy a $14,000 car with $4000 down at 29%.

Q: Advice on how to start selling used cars in Houston Texas.?
I am new to this area and i have been thinking of starting a used car business.Even before i came here i had the idea in mine,i just don’t know the process i know i need a license but where do i get it.
And where are the used car dealer auctions held in this area i really need some one who is in the business and who share this information with me.
Any advice would be appreciated.

A: Business License comes from the city where your lot will be. You may be able to lease the lot, but, check the zoning! The city and other government agencies may have used cars to sell at incredibly good prices. See the links. Good Luck

I do know it is on hwy 59, but that is all. can anyone please help me?

A: Its a scheme.

Don’t bother.

If you are sitting in a broken down junker that was towed in, they will sell it to you for $1 plus $399-699 in fees.

Q: In Houston – Tx, Which are the best Toyota/Honda/Nissan (new & used car) dealership in 150 miles area?
Which are the best Toyota/Honda/Nissan (new & used car) dealership in Houston – Tx in 150 miles area ; if you can please suggest – where one can find best deals gogin on as of now on sedan cars (Normal / Hybrid) & genuine transactions ;

Any other place to buy used car (/new car ); except these dealership in Houston area – the best shopping places for car .Any suggestion will be great help, Thanks!

A: tryebay,craiglist,autotrader & cars .com
for reliable any of the 3 DONT BUY MITSU
I say ur best bet would b a Toyota Camry or corolla
HOnda Civic or Accord
NIssan Sentra or MAxima
my choice would b the civic

Q: Cheap used car?…(Houston, Texas)?
I’m looking for a cheap used car, preferably a Honda Civic (1992-1995 body style), or anything along those lines (Toyota, Nissan, Mazda etc.) Does anyone know a website or anything useful to help me out? By the way, I’m looking for something no more than $1,200, and also in the Houston, Texas area. Any help would be appreciated.

A: Hi
Civic, You can get really good cheap cars from auctions , you will find thousands of different auction and repo cars of all kinds of models really cheap at http://www.carauctiondeals.com
Hope this helps

Q: What’s the best way to get a good deal, on a used car, in Houston?
Details if you got ‘em.

A: I bought an Expedition in Houston about three years ago. I know when the flood came a lot of cars were involved in that. Also with Katrina, others might have been shipped over there for resale. The best bet is to run a check on the car. Also try this website – www.automotive.com

It is very resourceful, with car buying tips and classified sections. It will give you pricing quotes, factory color options, along with car reviews and auto recalls.

Q: In Houston – Tx – Which is the best Toyota (new & used car) dealership in 150 miles area?
Which is the best Toyota (new & used car) dealership in Houston – Tx in 150 miles area ; also if you know Honda or Nissan where one can find best deal & genuine transactions

A: The nice thing about the internet is it often allows you to see the Toyota dealer inventories. Certain volume Toyota dealers have limited markup and knowing which ones in your area that are reasonable certianly helps.

Another good source of pricing info is CARMAX before deciding which Toyota dealer to begin negotiating (recommend starting like Wed of 3rd week just before end of month bec yes they do have quotas & targets) but with maximum information you should know which dealer to visit 1st that has maybe several (2 or 3 of your choices) in his actual inventory… I had gotten BEST PRICE based on having possession of facsimiles and email price quotations from Toyota dealers where Sales manager where we visited saw I was well prepared and wanted to make end of month sale so he didn’t let us leave and even allowed us to call other dealer right in front of him, but we of course couldn’t disclose their fantastic price. Then again, a lot has to do with supply & demand and on some hot models that had waiting lists, I have had Toyota dealers let us walk out the door bec some idiot behind us was willing to pay price…but next Toyota dealer did give us a much better deal (bottomline requires patience)

Hope the Above Helps bec Money or Good Credit does Talk!
By the way, I used the same info and strategy for a coworker and got them a great deal even lower than what he & his wife had gotten on earlier attempts on a HONDA CRV

Q: Where is the best place to buy a used car for my first in houston?
Please help I am on a limited budget!

A: Think about a classic Ford Pinto that can be found lurking in many backyards, concealed by brambles, kudzu, and empty beer cans. The external combustion engine gives it the power and acceleration of a quadriplegic in a manual wheelchair. There have been many cases that someone has left their house, got to a stop sign 400 feet away, accelerated and got to another stop sign 35 feet away from that, and their engine will still be sitting in their driveway.

Q: Where is the best place on the net to look at used cars?
I want to buy a used car. Do you kow of any good web sites except for craigs list and autotrader? I live in Houston.

A: auto-locator.com , and autotrader.com

Q: what is the best way to ship a car from houston, TX?
What is the best way to ship a used car from Houston or Freeport?

A: first off where are you shipping to?, if local use a local tow service, if to another state use a service that will put car on a trailer for safety and no miles will be put on your cars tires.this service should be bonded and insured. if overseas, use a shipping container designed for automobiles, very dependable and safe way to go. also insured

Q: Where can I find good used cars?
Ok, I am 17 years old with my mom’s old ‘94 Nissan Sentra. I will be leaving for college in August and my current car keeps breaking down constantly. I need a dealership that will finance a 17 year old with probably no credit. Also that is near Houston, Tx.

A: No one will finance a 17 year old because you need to be 18 to legally enter in to a contract.

Even if you were 18, you’d need a large downpayment (50%) and proof of employment because most lenders consider you a high credit risk because of your age and lack of credit.

Ask mom to finance or buy another car for you. Then you can pay her back working part time. Also when you go to college, sign up for a few credit cards to build credit. But only use it sparingly (like to pay for books and gas) because if you don’t you’ll end up thousands in the hole like most college students.

Q: where can i found good condition cars under 7k?
in the houston area..
used cars
is there a website that has nice conidtion cars for cheap?
already tried carmax

A: i own a repair shop, and for that kind of money you can find them everywhere, and just about any kind also,,but the best ones aren’t on any web sites there being sold by individuals who have bought them new ,and didn’t trade them in when they bought newer ones,,i have found some real nice ones here lately,i bought a really nice little Nissan sports coupe,,one owner ,low miles for 500 bucks from the original owner,,so you see there out there ,you just have to really look hard for them,,good luck,i hope this help,s,,have a good x-mas.

Q: How can I tell if a car has been used in street racing?
After having purchased a used car that was obviously wrecking during a race, then putting thousands of dollars into its transmission, shocks and brakes, I’m ready to ditch the car and get another. How can I tell if a used car has been used in racing? The only way we knew in the last car is that the door had been replaced on the passenger side, and that was noticed only after the transmission needed to be rebuilt.
What cars are commonly used in street racing (especially in Houston) that I should simply avoid buying?

A: You have the car inspected by an ASE certified shop. Will cost between $30 and $100 depending. Avoid any Japanese car with no maintenance records, body kits, engine swap, etc.

Good Luck

Q: used cars in houston?
where can i find a good deal on cars, such as a used mini cooper in houston texas?

A: Here’re some good websites to find cars You can narrow the search down to your area

http://www.autotrader.com

http://www.cars.com

Hope this helps a little!

Q: I’m buying a used car in Texas, and need car insurance coverage; what is the minumum required by law?
Car insurance in Houston is so expensive!! I was wondering what is the minimum coverage that I need to pay? I can’t afford to pay almost half of my monthly payment on car insurance!! That’s crazy!

Do you know what is the minimum required by law? It would be a 60 months leased car.

Thank you!
GOD bless!

A: Hi Linda,

In Texas the minimum requirements for liability are 25/50/25. This insurance will cost you about $25 a month.

There is a good insurance company in Dallas. See my source below.

Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless

See my source below.

Q: Who buys used rims and tires In Houston Texas?
I have bought new rims and tires for my car and my old ones are taking up too much space. Where can I take them to sell them for a couple hundred dollars (worth WAY more)?

A: the best bet would be to sell the on craigslist. may be able to find a used tire shop in Houston that will take them off your hands, but probable not give you very much for them. what do the fit?

Q: i wondering if anyone knows how i can get a car in houston texas?
I have a car right now which i am VERY behind in the payments… my mom and i discussed that it might be a better idea to just get a used car, finance it which will make my monthy payments lower and the price of the car being about 3,000.. when the car i have now is 16,000. the car i have now is not in my name even tho i am the co-signer. Its under my dads.. he doesnt mind either.. his credit is already messed up., but my point is.. does anyone kno where i can finance a used car and where they except okay-bad, credit? AND without car insurance 2 start.. i will get it, but i need to wait till i get a raise. which is coming up i just need to get a car now, b4 they repo mine and i wont have any car to get to work..

A: For auto insurance the quickest method to get a free quote is do a auto policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, auto make/model, mileage and driving history to make sure you get accurate comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.

Q: Are blue neon lights legal inside a car in texas or in houston?
I want to know if neon lights can be used inside a car and if its legal before i instal them. can they also be used when the car is moving are white neon bars legal

A: As long as the light is not visible to other vehicles. If you have them on the floor or something… that should be fine however if they are illuminating your face or the interior, you can be cited. Texas state law states that only white or amber light can emit from the front of your vehicle. Only red, white or amber from the rear. It doesn’t really cover what can emit from the sides however if it can be seen from the sides, it can probably be seen from the rear. I have done the whole neon thing man and really, it was more hassle than it was worth. I got pulled over three times, then they kept breaking. They caused me more grief than pleasure. Save your money for a down payment on your next car.

Q: looking for a used car?
im 17,looking for my first car:) im in houston texas.

anyone know of a good used cars place?like good kind of cheap prices.
im not looking for anything fancy, but something good enough to get around in lol.
maybe if u know a website where i can look at prices and stuff please let me know.

thanks

A: what ever car you buy have it checked out by a mechanic well worth the money

Q: A friend in Texas wants to buy a car, but she doesn’t have her driver’s license yet? Can she buy the car?
A friend of mine wants to buy a car in Houston, Texas, but she doesn’t have a U.S. driver’s license? Can she buy a car? She has an international driver’s license.

Can a person take the behind the wheel driver’s test in Texas using a rental car?

Does anyone out there know? Thanks!

A: As long as she has insurance there should be no problem. A driver’s license is not required, only proof of insurance.

Q: i would like to buy a used for 500-700 in houston,texas?
you email me for serious sellers only not junk just an old car
for a single mother with small income

A: Try Craigslist.com or let your local churches know, they might help you.

Q: how much gas will i use to travel to orlando florida from houston texas with a V6 car?

A: “V6 car”

Can you be more vague? There are lots of “V6 cars” sold, some get 20 MPG highway at best, some get 30.

Google what kind of car it is, and you can easily find out the mileage ratings.

Mapquest can give you the distance of your journey.

Q: anyone selling a used car lift two post?
yes i am looking for a good used car lift in the houston texas area

A: not easly moved buy one where you are

Q: At what price can you buy good used home 2 bed +2 bathroom @ Pearland Texas area and a good used moderate car?
I am relocating mysefl at Houston from India with my wife and Mom. Is it a good idea to buy a home right away and stay or rent for some time and then buy? I can spend US$ 1000 per month on rent / monthly installment and about US$ 10000 as down payment, if I want to buy a home. I am 48 years now!

A: For houses you might want to start looking on http://www.har.com
For used cars you might want to check http://www.carmax.com
If you are looking for an excellent Realtor, here is a link to the Realtor that helped us find our house, her name is Jean Stanton. http://www.remax.com/residential/find_an_agent/index.aspx
This Realtor can help you find a good mortgage company if you do decide to purchase a house. You might have to wait to purchase a house for about one year. Keep open the possibility of a lease/purchase home.
Good luck and welcome to Texas!

Q: Purchased a used car from a dealer in Houston, any recourse?
I just purchased a used car from a dealer in Houston, TX. No warranty but paid $5K for it and have had to put another 5K in repairs in the first month. Any recourse I can take? They do most of the advertising on Craigslist. Can I fight back there? I don’t want to end up getting a lawsuit slapped my me either.

I have filed a complaint with the Houston BBB but don’t think they will be able to help.

I think if they pay for half the repairs I would be happy. I don’t want anyone else to go through this.

The car was wired to bypass the warning lights. Got that fixed and it went down hill from there.

I have checked the Texas Lemon laws and can’t find anything there. Surely there is a lawyer out there that would take the case…

Any help is greatly appreciated.
I don’t think I got what I a paid for. I paid for a $5K working car that was in good shape. I got a $5K car that requires about $6K of work on it… So I purchased salvaged car.

A: Unless the title says “salvage” you did not buy a salvage car. You bought a piece of junk, but not salvage. Any recourse? No, you bought a used car and used cars are always AS-IS unless you have a written warranty. In the future always take the car to a mechanic before you buy.

Q: can i rent a car in houston texas and turn it in in new york?
We are planning a trip to new york in march. We are leaving from Houston Texas. Can I rent a car in Houston and turn it in in New York? We plan on catching a plan back.

A: You can, but it will cost a lot more than returning it in Houston.

Q: Where can I take my car in Houston Texas to customize the intereior?
It’s my daughter first car but the inside is a bit damaged. We have painted the outside.

A: Stitches Auto Top & Upholstery
1308 Highway 6 S, Houston, TX 77077 Phone # (281) 558-8572
They are a bit pricey, but they do a great job. Specially on classic cars.

Q: How much does it cost to ship a car from Houston, Texas to Bogota, Colombia?
I will most likely be moving to Bogotá, Colombia in September of 2010. I would like to know how much it would cost to ship my car: 2009 Honda CR-V. Also, would it be smarter to sell my car and buy another one once i get to Bogotá? I hear that cars in Colombia are more expensive than they are here.

A: well is true car n Colombia are little more expense if you look in the “revista motor” will tell you how much is the price running for each model and year, something like the “blue book ” in US.
about shipping you car it will be between 500 and 1000 , but in top of that you need pay the import customs”arancel” what increase you price a lot and put the car same value in Colombia.
the CR-V 2010 was 100′000,000 of colombian pesos in august when I was there what in dollars was equivalent some around 50,000 US dollars and O miles.

due Colombia topography the car must all time run with mechanical transmissions or standard, the automatic transmission go faster and repairing are so expense ,and due the mountains system it will no be the best choice to drive and automatic car in Colombia.

In Colombia the engine cars are repairing in full, so making the old cars have very much a new engine,(rebuilt).

Q: How can you buy a decent car in Houston, Texas?
I need a cheap car now.

A: Bay Area Ford has good cars, but I also hear that CarMax has the best selection for the price.

Q: Where can a nineteen or twenty year old rent a car in Houston Texas?
We’d planned a trip to San Antonio this weekend and now we’re having car issues. Is it possible to rent a car in Houston?

A: You must be 21 to rent a car.

Q: Is it illegal to have a radar detector in your car in houston texas?

A: It is not illegal to have a radar detector in Houston. If you are looking to get one, do not bother with one that detects LIDAR, also known as Laser, it is a waste of money. If the detector is detecting it, it is only because the laser is pointed directly at you and has already obtained a speed clock.

Good Luck

Q: how much does maaco charge for painting a car in houston texas?

A: my friend worked there, avoid at all costs, cheap paint they use, they time the workers,44 minutes to prep max, stay away, but the answer is 200 bucks

Q: What Steps Do I take to Register my Car in Texas (Houston)?
Normally I just go to the DMV but was told I need to do 3 steps…Help!

A: I just got a vehicle registered here so I’m pretty fresh on this!

STEP ONE: Insure vehicle with Texas policy
STEP TWO: Get vehicle inspected (just about every auto shop, oil change place, or tire company offers these) and get a ‘Green Slip’. Take great care of this Green Slip that they will give you.. it’s basically the official certification that your car is in good enough condition to be registered here. Don’t bend it, fold it, let it get crinkled, ANYTHING.
STEP THREE: Go to the DMV or County Clerk and pay your fees. You’ll have to pay for new resident if you’re just moving here, which is about $90, plus $50 for the registration fee, state taxes, and plate fee.. all in all, it’s around $280 just to them.

And then you’re done!

Q: Expired registration and inspection in houston texas, car towed help?
Okay so here’s what happened. I was driving my car even though my registration and inspection were expired. I ran out of gas and pulled my car onto the shoulder of the freeway. I grabbed my gas can and walked to the gas station that was just off the feeder. When I returned with a gallon of gas 10 minutes later my car was gone. I immediately called 911 and they dispatched two officers who took down the license plate number and registered the car as stolen. They told me, just in case, to call the houston tow line to see if it’s been towed. This was Friday, it’s now Thursday the following week and it still hasn’t been registered as towed. With no gas in the tank, however, the only logical explanation is that whoever “stole” it had a tow truck to move it with.

I didn’t inform the officers that the vehicle registration had expired. Not to mention, the car title AND my vehicle registration renewal letter were both in the glove box of the vehicle.

My question is, even though the VIN# has been reported stolen, is there a chance it was still towed? The fact that it was parked on the shoulder of the freeway and the registration was expired(meaning there was, at the time, no registered owner) would have qualified it as abandoned, but would it not have turned up already seeing as how it’s been reported as stolen? If it was towed, is the reason it hasn’t been registered in the city’s system as towed due to the fact that the registration is expired? And who would I contact to find out exactly where my car is, if it was towed and not registered, and how to get it back?

A: How in the world do expect anyone here to know whether your car was stolen or towed?

Q: We want to hire a car in Houston Texas for 3mths can anyone recommend a reliable company?

A: Enterprise Rent A Car. More affordable and wide variety of models available than Hertz or Avis.

Q: Where’s a good Place to tint your car in Houston, Texas?

A: I’ve only ever had my car windows tinted at the dealer, but I googled a few places for you. The link is below.

Q: where can i find a cheap car in houston texas from $1.000 to $2.000 dollars?
well am looking for a lincoln 1996 or a Cadillac……

A: i’ve found the easiest is to check http://www.craigslist.com

Q: Are blue neon lights legal inside a car in texas or in houston?
I want to know if neon lights can be used inside a car and if its legal before i instal them. can they also be used when the car is moving are white neon bars legal

A: As long as the light is not visible to other vehicles. If you have them on the floor or something… that should be fine however if they are illuminating your face or the interior, you can be cited.
A: craigslist or auto trader.you’ll find cars cheaper here than you will ever looking at online auctions.

Q: Which one of these cars would be a good 1st car?
1987 Chevy truck

http://galveston.craigslist.org/cto/1693784010.html

1976 bronco

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1976_FORD_BRONCO_97182155

VW dune bug

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/1686955784.html

ya, i like the unusual and unpractical.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: What is the best online medium for selling a used car?
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES in great condition with 114k miles that I am trying to sell. I have tried the Houston Chronicle and have had no luck there. I have had a few responses via Craigslist but no one serious enough to make an appointment to see the car.

Out of places like autotrader, cars.com, vehix.com, etc., which site gets the most traffic and would be most likely to sell my car? Any other online sales suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

A: How are you managing the leads you do get?

The reason I ask is that if not handled correctly it will not matter how many calls come in…and it only takes one to sell the car.

Sellers often get too caught up in trying to sell the car when someone calls in. The focus should be to give as little information about the car as possible, yet just enough to make the caller want to see it. The goal of the conversation should be to get the appointment to see the car…the car will sell itself if the customer is there.

Craigslist is excellent and free. Autotrader.com is very popular in Texas…online as well as in print and would be the best form of advertising in that region.

Good luck

Good luck!!

Q: advertising, i need some advertising ideas for my business?
i have a use motorcycle shop in houston, my shop is behind my house so all my business is word or mouth. i am also about to pick up car and truck acc, and wheels and tires. i use craigslist and cycletrader and post my items on myspace. besides ebay does anyone know of any good ways to advertise. i aslo have financing availiable. that helps my sales. i need to get my name out there……thanks

A: Ads in local newspapers can be quite inexpensive. You could put up flyers in local supermarkets, churches, etc., and even see if you can put up a sign in local automotive/motorcycle dealerships, automotive parts stores, and other places where potential customers can see it. If you don’t have a sign out in front of your house, you should think about putting one out there. And if you can join the local chamber of commerce, that’s a good way to network potential customers.

Q: how much what financeing cost me?
im 18 no credit never even touched it but i want to in the next month or two buy a used porsche for maybe 14 – 18k im in houston tx btw so on a lets jusy say 18 thosand dallor car being 18 just opening up credit with fist time buyer on my side what should i expect for apr or finace rate or whatever they call it o and whats this tax title and lkicence stuff about is it like sale tac or whatever a bunch of diffrent ones and the title how much will that cost and licence im clueless anyway i just want a avarage rate of what you think it would cost me would i get a better finance rate with a down payment of maybe like 1 thosand and how much do u think that would help plz help??????

A: What has this got to do with Japan ?

Q: The dealership can’t get title to my vehicle (MSO)?
I purchased a used BMW back in March of this year and the dealership still can’t get title. I’ve been driving around in this car that I’m paying highly for and am at the end of my rope. I want to take the car back so they can give me a car that I can get a title to but mostly I just want to leave the car there. I travel around Houston quite a bit for work purposes and am afraid that If I am injured in a car wreck (on my time or work) that my insurance wont cover it and know for certain the dealership wont either.

What can I do? The sales manager said they could get me some aftermarket items for the car but that isn’t what I want – I feel that I have been inconvienced more than enough by driving under those conditions not to mention the time, energy and effort to get in touch with the dealership every 20 days to get a replacement tag. There have been plenty of times where they failed to send me the temp tag and I have been forced to sit at home or drive with expired tags in fear that I will get a ticket.

A: Contact the DMV and ask about the situation. Call the better business bureau and report the issue. Contact an attorney you may be making payments on a car that is not nor will ever be yours. The attorney can give you more info. plus the dealership may be liable to pay you back his fee (some offer free consults) and for your time.

they have them in all states -
a while back they finally removed one from our area when they had to give a guy that got of jail a horse and a gun b/c back in the day that was how people made their living and they hadn’t voided the law , so they had to give them to him

A: craigslist or auto trader.you’ll find cars cheaper here than you will ever looking at online auctions.

Good Luck

Q: Which one of these cars would be a good 1st car?
1987 Chevy truck

http://galveston.craigslist.org/cto/1693784010.html

1976 bronco

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1976_FORD_BRONCO_97182155

VW dune bug

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/1686955784.html

ya, i like the unusual and unpractical.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
