Q: Car for sale, Dallas/Ft Worth TEXAS?
I need to sell my car, do you know a good website where I can post it to sell?
I have already posted it on craiglist and backpage.
Do you know any other site good to sell?
I live in Arlington TX.

Thanks in advance
Thank in advance

A: thegreensheet.com but you would have to pay for the ad. Could also have it inserted into every edition that they offer in the DFW area. Pretty small fee. They say “Greensheet brings you buyers”. Try it and see.

Q: any used cars for sale?
I just got a job at a convenience story working part-time at minimum wage so I don’t have any money right now and I won’t have enough for several months. I’m wondering if anyone has a car for sale or knows of a good car store in the garland/dallas area in texas. I’m only interested in hearing about cars that I would be able to afford. Preferably no more than $1,000.

A: here you are

http://dallas.craigslist.org/search/car?query=&minAsk=500&maxAsk=1000&addTwo=

Q: Does anyone know of a car dealership that has Mitsubishi 3000 Gt or a place where they sale used ones?
I want a Mitsubishi 3000 Gt and im trying to find if theres a dealership where they might have some for sale but the dealership has to be somewhere in Texas because im from Dallas, Texas.

A: Here is the bulk of my previous post: hope these websites can help… Cheers, C.

Location of your 3000GT depends on how much you are willing to suffer for your art. There are 40 listings for Mitsubishi 3000GT’s across the country on Ebay Motors. Some will be close to your area. Limiting your search to vehicles of this sort that are close to home may end up costing you more money in the long run. On specific older used cars, its good to expand your search and bring down the best one available.

At any rate, Ebay Motors will give you a good basis to compare models and prices of your car. See link below:

Autotrader.com is a useful tool for dealership, and private sellers. You can search your vehicle through local listings based on proximity to your zipcode. Another link below:

Q: Does anyone know of a car dealership that has Nissan 3000 Gt or a place where they sale used ones?
I want a Nissan 3000 Gt and im trying to find if theres a dealership where they might have some for sale but the dealership has to be somewhere in Texas because im from Dallas, Texas.

At any rate, Ebay Motors will give you a good basis to compare models and prices… perhaps work out the exact nature of your dream car. See link below:

Q: I’m moving from New York to Dallas area of Texas need some advice?
Some questions:

How long before I have to change my driver’s license, car registration, inspection sitcker?

What’s the best way to find a job in the Dallas area? I’ve been on Careerbuilder and haven’t been very successful (probably because my address is still isted as NY). I’m trying to find a computer market development/marketing/sales job near Frisco, Plano, Dallas area.

When I file my tax return next year for 2009, will I get back more of my state tax because I’m no longer paying state income tax in Texas, or does NY state just take what I paid while I was here and doesn’t give me a refund?

What are the good banks in the Dallas area? Is there one I can switch to that doesn’t charge a monthly fee (like Ihave now on my local bank) and doesn’t require a minimum balance?

A: You have 30 days to get a Texas license and transfer the license on your car.
I don’t know about your job openings here, but you have to get your resume out and talk to people.
You need to talk to N.Y. about your state tax return, we do not have a state income tax in Texas.
There are several good banks that do not charge a fee you can find one convenient to your home or job.

Q: I bought a junker that runs, has California salvage title, want to drive it in Texas, now what?
I bought a old car from a guy here in Dallas. The car came with a california salvage title. I want to drive this car here in texas, but dont know what all im going to need to do to get it registered. I only paid 400 for the car but i dont want to spend another 400 to get it registered. I read something about getting a rebuilt salavage title, but i know the car has been rebuilt by the previous owner, and I have no reciepts or anything to show whats been done. I just have a running car and a cali salvage title and a bill of sale. So what now?
Thanks!!
Vicki thanks for your response. I have to do a little work on the car to make it pass, i.e. new windshield and catalitic converter, but after that it should pass. I did a vin search and found out it was salvaged in 1992 because of ‘collision;. The car looks straight and the frame looks straight. Dont know how that will effect the process, any thoughts?

A: Registration is usually a percentage of the value of the car. If it’s only $400, then it won’t be much. I don’t think you need receipts on what’s been done. The title has been branded “salvage”
It’s an out of state vehicle, meaning they want to physically look at the car before issuing a Texas title and plates. They may inspect the brake and lights. Does everything work on the car? will it pass emission test? (Texas isn’t as strict as CA on emission standards)

Q: False claim: Breach of contract on automobile sale. They reposessed car in middle of night from garage.?
My parents bought a new SUV in the Dallas, Tx area about a month ago. Last week it was stolen out of the garage in the middle of the night. The police were called and it was reported as a stolen vehicle. A couple of days ago my mother called to make her first payment (not due for another 2 weeks) and found that the finance company that the dealership used had no record of her. They said that the dealership may have just been slow in sending the paperwork off to call them and see if the paperwork was in the mail. When she called the employee that took her call said that he was under orders from his boss to not talk to her and that her vehicle was not stolen that it had been repossesed for breach of contract. He would give no further info. She asked to speak to the woman who filed her financing at the dealership, and was told she no longer worked there. Mom called the police and they talked to the dealership and found out that they claimed that she was in breach of contract because she used her name and credit to purchase a vehicle for someone else. The vehicle has only been used by my parents, and fully licensed and insured in their names. The accusation is unbelievable!!! The police also told her that even if they had grounds to repo, they were still tresspassing by going in the garage. She does not have the money to hire a lawyer and does not know what actions to take. Oh, and to make matters worse, her old car that had been parked next to the new has a dent in it with the same color paint as the new one (guessing in their quick thieving in the middle of the night they damaged it). The name of the dealership is Southwest Hyudai in Dallas, Tx. Does anyone have any advice?? Know any pro bono’s in Texas (they live near Dallas in Mansfield)?? Ever heard anyone having something like this happen before? Complaints against this dealership??? Thanks for any help!

A: You need to go to your local DMV office with all supporting documents. Contracts, sales orders, etc. You need photos of the damaged car as well

File a formal complaint with the DMV. There will be a few forms to fill out, but it is worht the time. The DMV will inspect this for you, and enforce any rules that have been violated.

As a dealer, I can tell you with 100% certainty that dealers are FAR more afraid of, and responsive to, a DMV complaint than a lawsuit. DMV has the ability to levy fines, restrict your license, audit every single deal, and even shut a dealer down if there are violations.

There is no charge to file a complaint. But I stress you MUST go in person to the DMV. Also, make sure you go to the main office. Most satellite offices do not have a professional licensing division officer on staff. So go to the main DMV office

Good luck

BTW Earl – its not slander if someone is presenting facts known first-hand. Slander has to be a malicious, false rumor.

Q: general questions about remodeling
well my immediate family is moving into a new home soon and i will be in charge of the renovations and remodeling. id like to leave the back yard open for patio space and the pool the we will be installing. but on top of the first or second story id like to add an open sun room of sorts. my question is; has anyone had any experience with adding another level to their homes? we will be intentionally buying low and getting out more for the remodeling. we will have between 20 and 100 thousand for the projects(depending on certain factors of course). ive found a nice home that would leave around 75k for the projects.to give a little info on my projects- i see a semi sun room the i will use for my weights and workout equipment. there will be no inner walls and the outer walls would be only a few feet high with the rest of the wall space being filled with glass and windows. i tell you this in hopes that maybe you could relate similar projects to mine and give some sort of cost that i might expect. there is no room either in reality or in my mind to spread the house outward into the yard since yard space is almost more precious then a homes sq footage. also, for any other projects, what sort of questions and research should i do before going into a deal? and to finish off this topic, is there any way i could make up a legitimate contract for the contractors stipulating certain terms and agreements? id like to be in complete control of this situation seeing as how this is our house and not some guy washing my car.
just a few little facts about my situation to help you help me; i live in texas in the dallas area and in our price range and certain select housing features, i found near 400 homes for sale. if i would have set the threshold to a bare minimum, the number goes up to nearly 650. and our maximum price would still be about 80k lower then the average. that home count isnt taking into account the foreclosed homes or new builds. when i look for houses up to a million with almost any square footage and other aspects, that number jumps to a staggering 1300. thats also not counting multi family or any attached home of sorts. also, a (simple) majority of homes have been on the market for more then 3 months, with new listings pushing other homes into the previously mentioned category daily. is there anyway i could use this housing economy to my advantage in regards to the remodeling projects? also, we have some of the lowest costs of living in the nation and home prices are extremely appropriate(low) when compared to other states. so if all this helps you give me me any advice, great. if not im sorry i wasted your time. thank you for any help and have a great week folks.

A: My eyes hurt from that!!

It will be money better spent on finding a house that is in;
1) A better location (makes a big difference at resale time)
2) Is already the size and stories you need.
3) Has a solid foundation, with no settling, or drainage, mold issues.

Spending more money up-front for a better house now, will save you from improvement and remodelling headaches later.

I just don’t see the logic in buying a bottom of the barrell house, and then having to completely renovate. 75 to 100K is alot of money.

Q: Pimp my ride?
I live in texas and of corse i cant get to cali to get my boyfriends car on Pimp my ride, but does anyone out there know of any programs like Pimp my ride in the dallas are? My boyfriend just wrecked his 1981 Mercury Capri that him and his dad built from scratch and the repairs are going to cost more than he paid for the car originally. I really hope there is someone out there can help. This car was his pride and because the throttle spring brokeand caused his car to accelarate into a ditch , its now just sitting in his driveway. If anyone can help, or even if you have a Capri body with t-tops for sale. i would be more than greatful. We are just trying to do somthing, because He didnt deserve to put in that much work and it be ruined

A: there is a show on cmt that does that stuff…i dont know of any restrictions like pimp my ride

A: a few pointers from me

QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS
What you have here are not qualifications – they are traits.
They are important but they need to go in the section that you call skills further down

SKILLS – These are the hard skills that should be listed under Qualifications at the top

DO NOT list the high school – just the college, the degree and the year of graduation

Ran the commercial window – change that to Managed the commercial window (sounds more impressive)

Your tenses are all over the place – some are present tense and others are past tense.

Assisted in the training of new hires

Much better – more consistency
now do the others so they read the same

Hope this all helps

Q: looking for a car sales man with a car of v4?
in dallas tx 75231

A: Im in San Antonio, but dont quite understand what you are wanting??

V4?????

or do you mean just a 4 Cylinder???

chris

Q: I bought a car recently from a friend with a salvage title, the title wasnt under his name either.?
he and i both wrote up a bill of sale … and he gave me the salvage title and i gave him the money for the car… now i am curious…. can i sell the car now?? if so .. how would i do so … im from dallas,tx! thanks!!!

A: In TX, this is illegal. Same with the other 49 states.

Your friend committed fraud. You need to unwind this very quickly, get your money back if possible. If your friend balks or skips out, take him to small claims court. He should have NEVER “sold” you that car.

He needs to have a legal transfer of ownership take place… the car MUST be in his name before he sells it. Anything else is fraud.

And… you’re wanting to do the same thing he did to you? You haven’t had the car titled in your name, and you’re wanting to sell it? Classic.

Now BOTH of you are committing fraud. Hopefully, you don’t find a buyer as naive as you were. Anyone that’s ever bought a car before will know that your name isn’t on the title and they won’t buy it.

Don’t be stupid. Get your friend to do this the right way. Sounds like they’re trying to skip out on paying the money to the DMV to get it registered correctly. Sounds like you’re doing the same.

Q: Best places to find used Japanese cars in Dallas, TX?

A: salvage yard.

After the warranty is over this is where they put them all.

Q: What is the best place to buy a used car in Dallas?

A: try http://craigslist.org

Q: Where can I find a really good deal on a used car near the Dallas FortWorth area?
Not too old, but used.

A: Police auctions,craigs list,ebay
Hope i helped = )

Q: What dealerships around Dallas offer a minimum trade-in value when trading a used car in for a new one?
I used to hear radio commercials for dealerships (namely Hyundai and Kia) who offered a minimum trade-in value for used cars (usually $3,000). I don’t listen to the radio any more, and I can’t remember who offered this. I need a dealership in the Dallas/Ft Worth area who will guarantee a $3,000 minimum trade-in on an old car.

A: Don’t be suckered by “minimum” trade-in claims in ads. Whenever you hear those, you can count on the fact that they selling price of the vehicle has been “packed” to cover for the excess valuation on the trade-in.

That said, TX has clamped down tightly on deceptive practices by auto dealers the past few years. The new advertising standards probably prohibit that type of advertising in TX now. That’s a good think, actually!

If you’re buying a new Lincoln or Cadillac, almost any dealer could offer a $3,000 trade in for a junker. But if you are looking at a new Chevy Aveo you’re going to need a trade worth about $2,700 to get a $3,000 allowance as there’s no wiggle room on bottom-end cars.

Q: Reliable Cheap Used Cars Help!?
Hello everyone! Does anyone know of any good places or websites too look for reliable cheap used cars in Dallas Texas or close surrounding areas. I really need help!! im in My second semester of College and I REALLY need transportation more then anything. thanks for your help in advance!

A: Well, define “cheap”.

If you go to craigslist.com, you can search all of the local listings in there and narrow it down by price. If you decide to try an auction, make sure you have someone with you that knows what they’re doing. You can either find a gem there, or get seriously taken.

Good luck. Usually, “cheap” and “reliable” do not go hand-in-hand. One HUGE piece of advice is to make sure any vehicle you consider is checked out by a licensed mechanic. It might cost you $100 or so, but it is worth every penny. Never take anything a seller says at face value. “Good condition” to them might mean something totally different to someone else.

Q: Where can i buy a cheap used car with low mileage in dallas texas?
Maybe a sunroof and more likely Black, White, Silver, Burgundy or Gray and it must have a Cd Player. =D

Good luck!

Q: Where can I get a really good used car in Dallas/Ft.Worth area?

A: Try these websites, and find the best deal…Then go out and test drive them.

Q: used car inspection in dallas?
Any places in dallas, Irving or Arlington that I can have a used car inspected by a mechanic before buying?

A: http://www.usedcarinspections.com/index.asp
This place comes highly recommended by Good Morning America. Other places have recommended them, but i found them off of good morning america. They are one of the most thorough people I have found. Best of Luck!

I reside in Dallas, TX and bought a used 2004 Corolla LE. The seller brought it from Colorado. So essentially it dosent have a TX license plate, registration and inspection. I am moving to Florida in 2 weeks. So I dont want to waste money by registering now in Texas and then again register in Florida. So how can I manage the situation? The seller is saying that once I take insurance, I can go to the local Tax office and get a temporary registartion and use that for 2 weeks. Then once I reach FL, I can do the FL registration.
Does anyone have a clear idea of what I am supposed do? What I am planning right now is to take insurance and go to the registrarion office and ask them.

Please help

A: autoinsurance.undonet.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

So can I sell that like 1000~2000 dallors in dallas area?

Q: any used cars for sale?
I just got a job at a convenience story working part-time at minimum wage so I don’t have any money right now and I won’t have enough for several months. I’m wondering if anyone has a car for sale or knows of a good car store in the garland/dallas area in texas. I’m only interested in hearing about cars that I would be able to afford. Preferably no more than $1,000.

A: here you are

Q: Can My wife give her driving test in Texas using my Employers Car issued on my name?
Hi,

My car is insured and registered in Dallas TX under the name of my employer.

The employer have given me this car to drive and I have a letter stating this.

Can my wife give her Texas (Behind The Wheel) driving test on this car? What I can do that my wife can give her driving test in Texas using this car?

A: As long as the vehicle is insured, and meets all the “street legal” requirements of Texas your wife can use it for her driving test.

Q: does anyone know where i can get a new used car?
i recently been in a accident and im looking for a used car does anyone know good dealers in Dallas, Texas area?

A: A lot will depend on what kind of vehicle you are looking for. If you want a 2005-2006 model, I would suggest searching the Internet on sites like autotrader.com and see what is available. It would be better to by from a dealership which sells the vehicle new because there is the possibility you can get a Manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned Car, which typically has a better interest rate.

If you want basic transportation, the local newspaper and small dealerships might be a better choice for you. I hope this helps.

Q: What are some good, reliable car models to buy in Texas?
I am about to buy a new/used car soon and I was wondering about good, reliable cars (here in TX-Dallas, Fort Worth) that are gas sufficient and reliable. This will be my first car purchase and my first here in TX-a place where you absolutely need a car to get around. I am looking for an affordable, great up-to-date car model to get from point A to B that is good on gas, as well as mileage all around. Please let me know what you think and what you would advise. Thanks!!!

A: Here is a nice hot rod:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/444059910.html

Here is a more economical car:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/444038587.html

All in Fort Worth Dallas area

Q: Anyone selling a car in the Fort Worth/Dallas area in Texas?
Budget under $6,000

It can be used, any color, perferbly 2000 and newer.

A: Try craigslist

Q: Car Dealerships for Bad Credit People in Texas?
okay I have bad credit very bad a score of 380….yes i know terrible..

i need a “new” used car or truck

i live in arlington texas by fort worth, dallas, and grand prairie

i have a very low down payment and i have an old 1990 camry with rust on it i could trade in but doubt i can get much

any ideas on what car dealer will let me get a car or truck with very very low down payment and extremely bad credit?

A: With a credit score that low you are going to have major problems not only with a loan but with insurance as well. As you may know, even if you get a loan, the interest rate will be very high and you’ll probably be asked for a large down payment relative to the cost of the car.

Make sure you stay aways from “buy here, pay here” car dealers. Their business depends on repossesssing cars they’ve sold with high interest rates that their customers can’t afford.

Is it possible that you can get someone to cosign a loan with you? This is really the only reasonable option for you. The cosigner would only pay if you were to stop paying or miss payments. You seriously need to start making on-time payments to get your credit score up.

Q: I need a loan for $8,000. Does anyone know where I can get one in dallas, texas.?
I have a car title to use and am willing to pay high interest. Please don’t answer unless you can really help cause I have already been scammed.

A: Ok, there is this guy named Mario. He can help you out but you need to go to the Hooters and tell the waitress you’d like to order “the clams with pumpkin and basil.” Say nothing else and Mario will come out to you. As long as you make the payments as Mario asks, no one gets hurt.

Q: How long ahould it take for a car dealership to pay off my used car?
Hey,

I recently bought a car at a local Nissan dealership here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. They offered me too little initially for a trade in on my existing car, and we didn’t trade the car in. We went ahead and bought the car that we were interested. About a month later, after no bites on the used car(it wasn’t over priced), we decided we’d follow up with the dealership and see if they could offer us that same price. We were making double payments, and needed to get rid of it. We called the dealership, and they agreed to take the car for that same price. They said it would take 10-14 days for a check to be cut by their corporate office and sent to our bank. They would then mail us a check for the difference. We our almost to the 21st day, and our bank has not received a check or call for a payoff amount. I contacted our salesman via email today, and he said it just must be running behind. Should I be concerned??? The car is for sale on their used website now.

A: They have 30 days from the date of purchase. I am a title clerk in a dealership.

It will be money better spent on finding a house that is in;
1) A better location (makes a big difference at resale time)
2) Is already the size and stories you need.
