Q: Where can I find a cheap car in Austin, Tx?
I am a hard working person with terrible credit, repo the whole nine yards. I need a car, I can put two hundered down and 150 a month for payments. Until I can pay it off.. I need someone to give me a chance please. Does anyone know anyone who has a car that they can’t sell but runs good? I live 30 miles outside Austin so it must be dependable, I can’t afford to have it break..
A: american classified or www.autotrader.com
Q: Austin cheap monthly rental car needed?
Hi im living in austin, texas and i want to take the rental car on monthly basis. But can i get the car for less then 500$? Is that possible?I searched online but it’s too expensive and which is not affordable by me.So can anyone help me to find the best deals in austin (websites, phone numbers, etc).
Thanks in advance
A: There’s also a local place, Longhorn rentals.
http://www.longhorncartruckrentals.com/
Your best bet would be to call rental places and negotiate with then for a month-long rate, instead of paying their daily rate for 30 days.
Also, I would try posting on craigslist to see if someone had a reliable car they would give up for a month for a few hundred dollars. It would certainly be cheaper than going through a rental place.
Q: where can i find a cheap classic muscle car for sale in austin,TX area not on ebay or craigslist?
A: “Cheap” and “Classic Muscle Car” are generally mutually exclusive, unless the car needs a lot of work.
It also depends on what you consider a classic. Even though 85-89 Mustangs are 19-24 years old, they are not classic muscle cars to me. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like them, but if it came with catalytic converters outside of California, its not a classic muscle car to me.
Camaros are generally the cheapest, due to higher production numbers over lots of years.
Q: What is a cool, but cheap car for a 17 year old?
I have a nice car, but want to buy a new one to go with it.
I have looked at MG midgets, and austin heeleys.
Triumph Spitfire is the cheapest i have found but is not a very good car.
Basically i want something cool, rather than a piece of shit clio, corsa or 106. Cus i have got some imagination.
However before i buy a triumph i just wanted to see whether there were any other suggestions.
A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carquotes.fateback.com
Q: Moving to Austin – where are good downtown places to live, and where is cheap?
Me and a friend or two are trying to move to Austin for the summer. We don’t know anything about the area, but we want to be somewhere close to downtown but also someplace we can afford. Austin has a good reputation for being a great city for young people…what are the different areas for bars and such? Preferably we would like to live walking distance to a good area…We don’t have cars, so how is the public transportation system?
If someone who knows the area well could give us some advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!
A: Austin’s a pretty cool place to chill. As for the bars you’ll mostly be hitting up 6th street but there are other places scattered about. As for public transportation, the metro is running with buses going most major places such as the community college campuses, the malls, and everywhere down town, also as of last week they have opened up a few rail cars that go from as far north as Leander and Cedar Park(where I live) all the way down to the capital building and 6th street. It all just depends on how far you’re willing to go to do things, for example at the moment the rail doesn’t run on weekends. I rode the metro rail last week when it was free as an opening preview deal and it was a pretty smooth ride to downtown in about 50 minutes. As for apartments things can get fairly cheap, out where I live the cheapest being about 450 a month. Good Luck!
Q: Where can I find some project cars for good prices?
For my first car I would like to get a project car to fix up! I’m looking on the web and can’t find anything. To be specific I am looking cars like classic cars like woodys, mustangs, maybe if it’s cheap enough, a ferrari (i doubt this is possible), but if you have an idea or answer please answer. Or maybe some other classics like austin healys, cars like this, and karman gias. Thanks!
A: Just write key words in google, like used cars. vintage cars, classic cars. Web sites will appear.
Q: What is the best/cheapest way to get a VERY small car (Austin MINI) from Ontario to WA state?
What’s the deal with hiring “brokerage”, etc?
A: Drive it. All other ways will cost a lot more.
Q: What is a cheap car rental place in Orlando,FL?
Flying from Austin, Tx to Orlando,Fl on March 26th. Need to pick up the car that day(mid-day).The next day I will be driving to Miami and staying there until the 30th… then I will be heading back to Orlando on the 1st to return the car. Basically I will be putting quite a bit of miles on the car and having it for 7 days. Where should I go for the best deal?
A: I usually use Enterprise. Check their website. They have some good discounts if you catch ‘em. I had made reservations for the 5th of April and it costs me 20 bucks per day for unlimited miles. One day, I checked their website again and rentals for the same car was 15 bucks a day. So needless to say, I updated my reservations with them. I’m happy and Enterprise is glad I’m sure that they still have my business.
Q: Cheap Apartments? In Austin Texas.
I’m looking for a cheap apartment in austin texas and it ive been looking on line and ive found couple but the reviews for them are awful like lots of crime and people hitting your car? Could some one please recommend a cheap apartment in central austin on the bus line and kinda close to ACC east view campus.
A: If you’re looking for cheap apartments in the vicinity of ACC Eastview, they’re probably not going to be low-crime or particularly nice, that’s just the nature of the area, and the nature of cheap apartments.
There’s some apartments on Lakeshore Blvd that are decent – I wouldn’t recommend anything that is much further than that south of town lake though, as that is a higher crime area.
Also, avoid any apartments you may find on Oak Springs, around where it hits Webberville rd, and any on Springdale rd, right where Prock Ln hits it, those are government housing areas and are generally higher in crime.
I live pretty close to Eastview, and it’s not a bad area at all, but it can be hit-or-miss, I would definitely drive around the area you are thinking about if possible. Maybe try to get a 6-month lease so just in case it is not what you were expecting, you don’t have to wait a whole year.
Q: The cheapest place in austin Texas to get my car alarm removed?
I need them to come to my house.
A: cough*stolencar*cough
Q: How do I go from Austin to Dallas?
Aside from flying that is, what are other ways that are relatively cheap (or cheaper than flying) to go from Austin, TX to Dallas? I’m coming in from Australia, so I won’t have a car either. Is there a bus/shuttle service? And approximate times?
Thanks!
please don’t give me highway recommendations. i can google map that myself. i meant like non-driving-myself-there options thanks!
A: Amtrak train service is the way to go! Takes about 4 hours 20 minutes. Costs about $55.00. My son does it all the time as it is cheaper than gas and the time is almost the same as driving. Have fun in Austin.
Q: where is the cheapest place to rent a car in austin, tx?
A: Would be National Car Rental.
If you book it online you can get $10.00 off a weekend rental and $15.00 off a weekday rental.
http://www.nationalcar.com/ – Is the website for more info
Have a great day!!!
Q: Cheap Flights, car rental, etc…?
I’m looking for super cheap flights from either savannah GA or jacksonville FL to austin TX.
School starts for me on January 5th in hutto TX at Triple Crown Dog Academy & my husband really wants to fly in with me for orientation.
The cheapest I’ve found from looking at all of the discount flight sites is $200-$230 for my one way & $300 (give or take) for his round trip. We simply can NOT afford this. Does anyone know of any cheaper, less advertised type places? We can afford my ticket no problem, but in order for him to go also it’ll need to be less than $400 total for both of our flights.
I’ve also already checked out amtrak,, greyhound, and even renting cars, they all even out to about the same thing, around $500 or more.
We need $400 or less.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!
((Flying is the preferred way)) My husband can only take off January 5th & 6th ((mon & tues)) & HAS to be back to work on that Wednesday morning.
A: Your best bet is BookMe.com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!
Q: What is the best car to buy for a first car (UK).?
i am learning to drive in a couple of months and i want to start to look for a car ready for when i old to beable to drive it.
What are some good starter cars ? (something little, cheap to run .etc)
My dad said a austin/rover mini. what do u think of this car ? Thank u.
A: Whoa!! Austin/Rover? No way. Rover went bust for a reason, that being they were cobbled together and were totally rubbish. I had a Rover 200 which simply fell to bits.
Try a Vauxhall Corsa Mk 1 Facelift, 1.0 litre 3 cyl. Cheap to run, cheap to insure and easy to fix. You should get a T reg for about £600.
Q: Motorcycle or Car when I go to college?
I have a cbr f4i and I am planning to attend UT Austin in the fall. I was wondering if i should take the bike with me and if it would be practical for parking and commuting etc. or if i should buy a cheap car and use that. I have heard that its easier to find parking with a motorcycle than with a car but how much much more practical would it be in reality.
A: There are definite benefits to having a bike while in college. Parking is usually pretty good. Here at SFA we can park just about anywhere. The only problem is when the weather is less than stellar. From a practical standpoint, you need a car. Simply put the weather is going to present some serious challenges in the winter, even in austin. If I were you, I would get the cheapest beater car I could find, like a late 80’s camry or accord for less than a grand and keep that for bad weather. I have a crappy old explorer and my Victory kingpin, and the explorer gets driven maybe once a week, but when I drive it, I need a car over a bike. Having a sportbike as a sole means of transportation is not the best idea, but I have a buddy with a ninja 650 who is currently carless and survives, although he is looking for a truck in addition to his bike because he is fed up with having to ride in the sleet and snow we occasionally get here in nacogdoches. This is just my opinion, but I have been commuting to college for 2 years now by bike and HIGHLY recommend having 4 wheels in addition to 2.
